Boston

My boyfriend and I ventured up to Massachusetts this past December to visit Harvard Law School. The trip took an unexpected turn when it decided to snow 3-4 inches, but it was nothing short of magical. Boston was gorgeous, the architecture was amazing and the streets were so clean, but with a fresh layer of snow, Boston was a winter wonderland.

We didn’t let the snow stop us so we started our snowy morning at Cafeteria. The food was delicious and the mimosa was even better 🥂. Being a breakfast person, I had to order from the brunch menu. The French toast did not disappoint and neither did the maple syrup. (Since the syrup came in individual containers, I asked for extra and snuck them in my bag to take home) I highly recommend trying Cafeteria if you find yourself on Newbury Street.

Our day continued on Newbury Street, where I completed all of my Christmas shopping. The shopping there was so convenient, however, if you live in New Jersey like I do, you may want to be conscience about buying clothes out of state and save yourself some money on tax. P.S. Make sure you stop by the best store in the whole wide world, the Harry Potter Shop!

For lunch we tried Stephanie’s On Newbury. While I wish we had gone here for brunch, the food was still really good! The service was exceptional…our waitress was so personable and accommodating, she went out of her way to find me egg nog, which she did not charge me for! She made the experience incredible – I wish I had her name to thank, but thank you mystery waitress.

The whole purpose of the trip was for me to see what one could only explain as a dream school, Harvard Law School, and so the next day we took a tour. Even if you aren’t applying to Harvard, go take a tour -the campus was breath taking!

We finished our trip in Boston’s North End and the only way I could describe this is the Little Italy of Massachusetts! It was so cute and quaint and it smelt of delicious food. Quattro came highly recommended by a good friend, Layne, and o-m-goodness was she right about this place. The pizza was so delicious, we both ordered our own pies. We saved dessert for Mike’s Pastry A.K.A the biggest and best cannoli I have ever had. There are so many flavors I couldn’t even pick a favorite. Unfortunately, I did not get to try the hazelnut cannoli, which means I just HAVE to go back so that I can!

I wish I had more/better pictures for you guys but my phone broke the next weekend and I lost mostly everything… boo!

Well these are just a few of my favorite things from our Boston trip -please leave comments with your favorites, I would love to hear if you guys agree with some of mine! Fingers crossed that I hear back from Harvard soon.

Until next time!

Lé Clair

For about a year and a half, all I have wanted is a box of flowers from Venus Et Fleur. These arrangements are a show-stopping statement piece. The moment you see them, you fall in love; it’s impossible not to.

My wonderful boyfriend knew how badly I wanted one of these arrangements and traveled into the city to get me one for this Valentine’s Day. To his disappointment the iconic box arrangements were sold out and he was offered a limited edition collection called Lé Clair. He did not want to let me down by not getting the original one but he had to take his chances. Let me just say, I was not let down at all!

This new collection was the perfect gift for me. Lé Clair doubles as a flower arrangement and home decor and storage acrylic box. The flowers are protected by a clear, removable, acrylic top. Underneath the roses, is a clear acrylic drawer perfect for storage! I now have a beautiful decoration for my new wood desk and a great place to store my lipstick collection.

The best part about Venus Et Fleur’s arrangements is that they last a year with essentially no maintenance. They virtually dummy-proof or as I like to call it, Demi-proof! I have a full 365 days to enjoy this amazing gift from my exceptional boyfriend.

Happy Valentine’s Day to my Ry, you are appreciated day in and day out. Thank you for being you -and for my amazing flowers! I love you.

Somewhere Other Then New Jersey

So I know I haven’t written in a long time, but I’m back! As I sit at work, staring outside at the snow, I can’t stop wishing I was back in Florida!

One of my all time favorite vacations is to Disney World and Universal Studios. Surprisingly, it is not as expensive as one would think and you get to enjoy the sun and have a ton of fun.

Here are some helpful hints and tips to getting the most out of your next florida tip.

This time we decided to stay on site at the parks and let me tell you The Royal Pacific was one of my favorite resorts! They offer express passes and early access to the parks when you stay at the resort, which was convenient! The theme of the hotel was tropical and it was executed perfectly. You get lei’d more than once at this hotel and each time is equally exciting -get your heads out of the gutter-!

From the moment youstep  out of the car service to the last walk through the hallway as you are checking out, you do not feel like you are in Orlando, Florida, but rather that you are on an island.

The express pass (when free) is so worth it!!! It got us through the lines fast, allowing us to wait for the important rides….. like Harry Potter, duh!

Some of my favorite restaurants inside the park are Emeril’s OrlandoThe Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar and The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen. Two of my favorites outside the park are STK & Brick House Tavern + Tap. If you want to know more about these restaurants and why I suggest them, leave comments and I’ll make another post. 🖤

Disney springs is a must see, especially around Christmas Time. Some Christmas music, hot chocolate and a box of sprinkles cupcakes is a perfect, relaxing and budget friendly Disney date. Disney springs is free to walk around and offers a plethora of shopping, dinning and entertainment options. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the Cirque Du Soleil show, La Nouba, and watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at the AMC Dine-In theatre.

Some musts are Butter Beer, Mickey Mouse waffles, the Fireworks Dessert Party and a ride (or five) on the Gringott’s Escape!

The dessert party was one of my favorites and well worth the price, especially since we got free theme park tickets! We were treated to a dessert buffet and escorted outside just in time to watch the fireworks in a non-crowded, blocked off area.

Orlando does not have to cost a fortune, there are ways to save like packing lunch and bringing it to the parks, filling up water bottles with free water, using traveling sites to book hotels, uber-ing rather than renting a car, and purchasing tickets through discount cites like AAA Membership Discounts or Visit Orlando.

Another post will be up later today, keep an 👀 out!!

Oxfords

I would have never thought of myself as a Oxford kind of a girl, but then I saw my fashion idol SomethingNavy rocking a pair by Miu Miu. I can say matter-of-fact that I can’t afford the particular pair that I fell in love with, but I found a close second!

DSC_2035.jpg

These oxfords by Shelly’s London are so fun! They have a nice platform which is my favorite part. Being so short, I didn’t think that this platform being so level would compliment my body, but they were still flattering.

I am so happy I decided to get the black because I am such a neutral person, but the metallics are to die for.

DSC_2041.jpg

I chose to pair this with an off the shoulder dress from Forever 21. I am not typically a fan of dresses that fit me too loosely, like this one. They can swallow me up and throw off my proportions, however, this one fit me pretty well.

I am obsessed with this look and cannot wait to pair these shoes with the perfect fall outfit!

Here is a little BTS!

~My pearl necklace was given to me as a gift after the recent passing of my bunny “Pearl”. Not only does it complement every outfit, but also it was the most thoughtful gift I have ever received! Thank you Lexi!~

Travel Tips

Traveling is one of my favorite things in the world! I will take any opportunity to go away – even if it’s a simple one night getaway.

I am slowly trying to master the art of travel and I have began to find some little tips and tricks that make a hectic travel day so much easier.

11694757_10154117120380550_5380061390584019776_n.jpg

Tip #1 – Always plan your outfits ahead of time, especially for long vacations. Doing this will help you see what outfits you can mix and match. It also helps those who are as indecisive as I am to stop second guessing themselves.

Tip #2 – Bring two basic bags that match almost all of your outfits. I almost always wear gold accessories, so i never go anywhere without my black and gold Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag. My second bag is typically a cream or beige color, depending on the season and my outfits choices. Although, I will normally pack two black bags – one with gold chains and zippers and one with silver.

11698365_10154079433410550_4287567770261728848_n.jpgTip #3 – Always wear something cute, comfortable and reusable to the airport. One of my favorite airport outfits is a pair of black pants (any style – sweat, legging, flared, jeans, etc) paired with a neutral shirt, and a sweater. I am always cold on planes to begin with and it doesn’t hurt to have a sweater wherever you go – it could be cold in restaurants or attractions.

12524104_10154585863740550_2141417132614262343_n.jpgTip #4 – I love to wear sneakers to the airport. 99% of the time, a pair of sneakers completes my outfit, however, they are also one of the heaviest items I pack. By wearing them on the plane, I give myself room to pack more. Plus, I hate taking off my shoes in an airport, and so already having socks on makes me feel a little better about walking around shoeless.

Tip #5 – Bring a carry-on bag that you can use for more than just a carry on. Depending where I am going, I typically bring my Louis Vuitton Never Full bag. By bringing this bag, I can fit a lot inside, but I can also empty it out at the hotel and use it during my trip as a purse.

Tip #6 – Pack Neutral. For long trips it is so much easier to make your limited wardrobe look different and stand out by packing bold accessories and accent pieces. This way you are able to combing two or more pieces to make a brand new outfit.

Tip #7 – Limit the heels to two or three pairs. This is the hardest part of packing for me, but I’m getting used to it and it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

unnamed.jpg

Tip #8 – Don’t forget your sunnies! Sunglasses are one of the easiest and most regrettable things to forget. I like to pack a few pairs to make my outfits look a little different.

Tip #9 – Get your nails done very close to your departure date. I feel confident in saying no-one ever likes the look of chipped nails! I would even go as far as saying that even boys would agree unpolished nails look better than chipped nails.

Tip #10 – Try to pack jewelry that you can mix and match to look different and stand out without having to pack your entire jewelry box.

Hope this helps you on your next trip!

The Purpose Tour

As hard as I tried, I could not resist buying last minute Justin Bieber tickets and I’m so happy I couldn’t!

His concert was so great! The lighting, the sound, the songs….him dancing. I loved it all!

Not to be selfish, but one of my favorite parts of the night was my outfit! The best part was that I found it all the second I walked into each store.

These ripped shorts were on the wall of Topshop in Nordstrom and they were what I have been looking for all summer. They are high waisted and looser around the thighs. Downstairs of Nordstrom, I found these beautiful lace up shoes, also Topshop. I decided to push my luck and run to Forever 21 for a top. I walked in and found this lace up top and decided to just get it and hope it didn’t clash with my shoes. As I was leaving I stopped back in Nordstrom to look at the Swell  bottles and instead found the cutest BaubleBar bracelets to complete my outfit!

Thanks for a great note JBiebs!

lipsticks and things

FullSizeRenderI’m sure most of you already know what this beauty is, but for those of you who don’t… Let me introduce you to the Violet Voss X Laura Lee Collaboration! I ordered this palette on June 29th during the pre-pre launch and I have been waiting to do a post on it for what seems like forever!

This was actually my first time trying Violet Voss shades and for real they are BOMB! That being said, I am aware that this palette is sold out but these shadows are so good that I would seriously buy any other palette that Violet Voss has based on the quality alone!

So let’s get down to the basics, this palette comes with 20 shades and there are variations of matte, metallic and duo chrome shades. These shades are creamy, buttery and the pigmentation is unreal! For the swatches, I did use a primer but…

A Few of My Favorite Things

This summer I’ve made a few purchases that I simply can’t get over!

First, are these gorgeous Free People Dahlia tie-up sandals. Truth be told, they can get a little annoying when they untie and fall down, which happens often, but they are so worth the aggravation. I can match these beauties with almost any and everything. They make every outfit more eye catching.

My next obsession is this all white outfit I purchased for my graduation dinner. Not only was it light and summery, but also it was extremely flattering. This Free People Move Along white body suit was tight in all the right places, yet still comfortable. It was simple, sexy and a perfect to these gorgeous white Olivaceous Hi-Waist Wrap Pants.

Obviously everyone has been jumping on the SWELL water bottle craze, but I really just hate hot drinks on a hot summer day, so I figured “why not give it a try”. I finally caved and bought a SWELL bottle and oh my goodness – it was worth it! I forgot my ice water in the car yesterday and when I brought it in this morning, it was still icy!! I’m obsessed with the look of the bottles and even more thrilled that they actually work.

Lastly, I’m completely obsessed with face masques, specifically Kiehl’s Nature Powered Masque Collection. It is so easy on the skin, it clears the pores without drying out one’s skin. I apply one of the three face masques once a week for ten minutes and it makes my face look so clear and clean! My personal favorite is the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque, but they’re honestly all so good!

These are just a few of my favorite purchases this summer! I’ll be sharing more later on in the week. Make sure to check back for more must-haves!

Banana Pancakes

So I finally perfected one of my favorite breakfast recipes, banana pancakes!

Ingredients:

2 ripe bananas

1 beaten egg

1 cup of milk

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon white sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Step one: Mash up bananas

Step two: Mix bananas, eggs, milk and vegetable oil in one bowl

Step three: Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.
Step four: Mix the two bowls together using a whisk. (I like to add a dash of cinnamon and vanilla extract at this step)

Step five: Spray spam on a pan and cook pancakes!

Enjoy!!

ElleroseUS

Once I find something I LOVE, I can’t keep it to myself. I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect keychain, something that makes my keys stand out. I like when one product can look classy, yet fashion-forward at the same time!

I found ElleroseUS through Snapchat. One of the most creative people I ever met created these gorgeous key chains out of no where.

The second I saw these, I called her and placed an order for mine!

Each key chain is made from genuine Louis Vuitton leather and they are all hand-made, hand-designed and hand-painted!

I highly recommend these key chains, they complement every key, outfit and look!
