Somewhere Other Then New Jersey

So I know I haven’t written in a long time, but I’m back! As I sit at work, staring outside at the snow, I can’t stop wishing I was back in Florida!

One of my all time favorite vacations is to Disney World and Universal Studios. Surprisingly, it is not as expensive as one would think and you get to enjoy the sun and have a ton of fun.

Here are some helpful hints and tips to getting the most out of your next florida tip.

This time we decided to stay on site at the parks and let me tell you The Royal Pacific was one of my favorite resorts! They offer express passes and early access to the parks when you stay at the resort, which was convenient! The theme of the hotel was tropical and it was executed perfectly. You get lei’d more than once at this hotel and each time is equally exciting -get your heads out of the gutter-!

From the moment youstep  out of the car service to the last walk through the hallway as you are checking out, you do not feel like you are in Orlando, Florida, but rather that you are on an island.

The express pass (when free) is so worth it!!! It got us through the lines fast, allowing us to wait for the important rides….. like Harry Potter, duh!

Some of my favorite restaurants inside the park are Emeril’s OrlandoThe Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar and The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen. Two of my favorites outside the park are STK & Brick House Tavern + Tap. If you want to know more about these restaurants and why I suggest them, leave comments and I’ll make another post. 🖤

Disney springs is a must see, especially around Christmas Time. Some Christmas music, hot chocolate and a box of sprinkles cupcakes is a perfect, relaxing and budget friendly Disney date. Disney springs is free to walk around and offers a plethora of shopping, dinning and entertainment options. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the Cirque Du Soleil show, La Nouba, and watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at the AMC Dine-In theatre.

Some musts are Butter Beer, Mickey Mouse waffles, the Fireworks Dessert Party and a ride (or five) on the Gringott’s Escape!

The dessert party was one of my favorites and well worth the price, especially since we got free theme park tickets! We were treated to a dessert buffet and escorted outside just in time to watch the fireworks in a non-crowded, blocked off area.

Orlando does not have to cost a fortune, there are ways to save like packing lunch and bringing it to the parks, filling up water bottles with free water, using traveling sites to book hotels, uber-ing rather than renting a car, and purchasing tickets through discount cites like AAA Membership Discounts or Visit Orlando.

Another post will be up later today, keep an 👀 out!!

A Few of My Favorite Things

This summer I’ve made a few purchases that I simply can’t get over!

First, are these gorgeous Free People Dahlia tie-up sandals. Truth be told, they can get a little annoying when they untie and fall down, which happens often, but they are so worth the aggravation. I can match these beauties with almost any and everything. They make every outfit more eye catching.

My next obsession is this all white outfit I purchased for my graduation dinner. Not only was it light and summery, but also it was extremely flattering. This Free People Move Along white body suit was tight in all the right places, yet still comfortable. It was simple, sexy and a perfect to these gorgeous white Olivaceous Hi-Waist Wrap Pants.

Obviously everyone has been jumping on the SWELL water bottle craze, but I really just hate hot drinks on a hot summer day, so I figured “why not give it a try”. I finally caved and bought a SWELL bottle and oh my goodness – it was worth it! I forgot my ice water in the car yesterday and when I brought it in this morning, it was still icy!! I’m obsessed with the look of the bottles and even more thrilled that they actually work.

Lastly, I’m completely obsessed with face masques, specifically Kiehl’s Nature Powered Masque Collection. It is so easy on the skin, it clears the pores without drying out one’s skin. I apply one of the three face masques once a week for ten minutes and it makes my face look so clear and clean! My personal favorite is the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque, but they’re honestly all so good!

These are just a few of my favorite purchases this summer! I’ll be sharing more later on in the week. Make sure to check back for more must-haves!

Banana Pancakes

So I finally perfected one of my favorite breakfast recipes, banana pancakes!

2 ripe bananas

1 beaten egg

1 cup of milk

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon white sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Step one: Mash up bananas

Step two: Mix bananas, eggs, milk and vegetable oil in one bowl

Step three: Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.
Step four: Mix the two bowls together using a whisk. (I like to add a dash of cinnamon and vanilla extract at this step)

Step five: Spray spam on a pan and cook pancakes!

As if I haven’t mentioned it before, one of my favorite parts of life is the privilege of traveling! It doesn’t have to be anywhere far or expensive, but a nice getaway means everything to me. As graduation was approaching, I began freaking out that I was going to be unemployed… So as every unemployed person does, I decided to spend some money I didn’t have and wouldn’t get from a pay check and book a flight to Highland Beach, FL. Okay, soooo maybe this wasn’t so normal! However, I couldn’t resist a couple of days in the sun!

My airport style is pretty casual, I normally wear loose shorts or pants with a nicer shirt. I tend not to wear jewelry, since majority of the time I have to take it off for security. This trip, I stuck with workout clothes. Since it was a short trip, I only brought a carry-on so I tried to save as much room as possible by wearing my gym clothes, rather than packing them!

Every morning we would enjoy the beautiful weather and enjoy acai bowls. We were alternating between the beach and the pool but my book came with me wherever we went. My book of choice was Miracles from Heaven.

Beauty Tip: always use sunscreen, even if it is 5SPF, or else you’ll wind up with 2nd degree burns and sun spots like I did. Whoops!

While we were away, we pretty much relaxed by the pool or beach, but at night we took sometime to explore!

I fell in love with this skirt the second I saw it. I had thought a lot about where to wear it while packing for our trip and then it hit me- I totally felt that this skirt was fitting for a Mexican themed night. So I am a total guac girl! I love anything that has avocado! When I saw that Rocco’s Tacos makes table side guac, I knew where we were going to dinner and exactly what I would wear. The Tuesday Taco specials were as delicious as the margaritas were strong! I highly recommend a visit to Rocco’s Tacos, if you ever find yourself near one.

While away, we took advantage of one of the best movie theatres I have ever been to, iPic Theaters! This theater is the totally package, you can either eat in their restaurant or sit at the bar prior to your movie or eat dinner while you watch the movie! If you choose to purchase a Premium Plus ticket, the theatre provides you with a personal waiter/waitress, who quietly serves you as you enjoy your movie! I am ecstatic to announce they are opening 2 more of these amazing theatres within 30 minutes from my house; you no longer have to go to Florida to experience all that iPic has to offer!

This iPic was located in Mizner Park which is filled with quality restaurants and shops! My personal favorite being the macaroon and chocolate shop!

Lastly, we visited an amazing seafood restaurant on the water. The Rustic Inn is such an authentic, fun place to eat. Everyone is cracking their shells on the table while watching the boats drive by, it was an extremely exciting dinner.

There were so many places we wanted to go but we definitely did not have enough time, which means I will just have to take another trip soon!

And Just Like That, We Were IN-N-OUT.

After an eventful week, our Vegas get-away finally came to an end but there was one last thing on our to-do list: eat our first IN-N-OUT burger.I have heard pretty mixed opinions on IN-N-OUT, and I have to say that all together, I liked it! Was it the world’s best burger? Probably not, but it was definitely good and we had the funniest time getting there.
P.S. Visiting the Vegas Police Department almost ruined our chances of making it to the famous fast food restaurant, but not to worry we made it! And don’t worry about the police station trip either, a stolen wallet was the worst part of the trip.

Bye bye Vegas!

On Top of the World

What’s better than a restaurant with amazing food, a spectacular view and a rotating floor? Oh! One with 6 roller coasters at the top as well.

The food was exceptional and so was the service. Eating dinner on top of the world was nothing short of entertaining. Whether we were trying to find our way back from the bathroom (considering the floor was moving and would be on the other side of the restaurant by the time you were walking back to your seat) or watching skydivers fly by mid bite, we were never bored!

Only one of the amazing views as we rotated above Las Vegas, Nevada.

This lobster bisque soup was to die for!!

Always pick surf and turf -best of both worlds!
Body suit: REHAB from Body Couture. Shoes: Steve Madden. Bag: Tory Burch Reva Glazed Leather Black Clutch. Necklace: Free People.
Until next time!

Breakfast was never short of delicious at Pantry in The Mirage. For the price of hotel Starbucks, a sit down breakfast got us more bank for our buck.

I ate every bite of these blueberry pancakes because they were that good! Since I do like to eat healthy, I couldn’t get those pancakes every morning. This egg white, spinach and feta omelette was a great substitute!
Another great place to try!

The Still

Anyone who knows me, knows that lobster is my all time favorite food! So how is it possible that I have never had a lobster roll until my vegas trip?! Well let me tell you, this lobster roll was worth the wait!

Not only was the lobster roll amazing, but so was the shrimp and avocado cocktail, wings and quesadillas!

If you ever find yourself in The Mirage, absolutely make time for their new restaurant,  The Still, in the casino.

The last-last supper

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore! (Sorry couldn’t resist!)

Going to school is always bittersweet but this year was even more so since it is my last year. So my family and I decided to go out with a bang and have a make-your-own pizza party, and let me tell you — it was delicious! The idea came from Amazon, I know strange! My dad loves to by new inventions and try them out and this weeks was a pizza maker for the grill.

We got the dough, toppings and mozzerella from Marra’s Italian Specialty Shop. Authentic is an understatement!
The sauce was to die for and hand made by my grandma 😙👌🏼

Somehow, “make-your-own” became “Demi, you’re doing great”. The truth is I didn’t mind making them all, I was having a blast and loved all the compliments (I mean all I did was knead some dough and add the essentials).
It was the perfect last-last dinner home before my senior year!

Until later,
Xx Demi

Who doesn’t love a summer night with some amazing ice cream?! Well, the answer is: nobody. I’m not really an ice cream person but even I can’t resist Bellvales!

(Peep: my cute little brother being silly!)

First, the view is to die for. Second, the ice cream is so fresh and the flavors are out of this world. Top three personal favorite: Cookie dough, bellvale bog, and coconut with chocolate covered almond pieces. Third, it’s all made right in front of you!

P.s. Try the banana split or getting your ice cream as a shake!

Totally worth the drive, I mean just look at that view!
